What Do We Do
The HRC is a ten-agency organization that offers housing rehabilitation services to low-income families across the continuum of need from Emergency Repair to Accessibility Modifications, Minor Repair and Major Repair. The HRC serves the low to moderate income homeowner with a special emphasis on the elderly.
Why We Exist
An estimated 56,000 of Tucson’s current housing units are fifty years or older. By the end of the decade, this is expected to rise to 87,000 units. Low-income households occupy 72 percent of these houses. HRC services enable these homeowners to close the financial gap that prevents them from maintaining the health, safety and value of their residences. This contributes to the preservation of the community’s affordable housing stock and the strength of neighborhoods.
HRC Mission
Working to improve housing conditions and quality of life for vulnerable populations by promoting public awareness and support for housing rehabilitation needs and by implementing a strategy to streamline services, maximize resources and technical expertise, and more effectively deliver housing rehabilitation services to our community through synergistic relationships of committed community agencies.
